Volunteer Opportunities
Do you love working with middle and high school kids? You've come to the right place! Austin LifeGuard is committed to the Austin-area youth by empowering them with accurate information and practical tools to help them make healthy decisions.
Austin LifeGuard relies heavily on the generosity and service of its volunteers. If you would like to partner with us in any way, please contact us at info@austinlifeguard.org. Please find our greatest needs below.
Administrative Support
We need back room support for our program. This would include organizing materials, data entry and school relations. (Estimated 2 hours/week)
Special Events: Logistics Support
We host seminars, continuing education classes, parent workshops and fundraisers. We need help with the logistical details of these events. (Estimated 2 hours/week)
Advisory Council
We need a committee of parents, teachers, students and medical professionals to help us provide accurate and age-appropriate information. We especially need help with up-to-date medical information. (Estimated 2 hours/month)
Volunteer Educators
We're always looking for people who are interested in presenting the Austin LifeGuard classroom curriculum in local high schools and middle schools. The training is intensive, but self-paced. We generally try to place our Volunteer Educators at a school near their work or home. You will be scheduled to present once or twice a semester, depending on your availability. This opportunity requires a flexible schedule during school hours.
